My husband and I have been married 2 years. I’m 21 and he’s 25. I’m getting ready to graduate from college and he graduated a couple years ago. He has a good, stable job and we just bought a house and live comfortably off his income. I stopped using the pill in April ‘08 and we started trying last September. I have told two people that we’re trying. We don’t talk about it with our families b/c it’s none of their business and whenever we visit my parents, my mom lectures me about how I should be 25+ before I have kids or I’ll ruin my life. She had me at 21. I guess I ruined her life or something.
So anyway, I’m getting my mom saying "Go back on the pill! Don’t get pregnant!" and then on the other hand, I have my two friends giving me every bit of unsolicited advice they can. I know, I know, nothing beats personal experience. But I have read SO many books, articles, medical journal articles, etc. about pregnancy & health. My one friend, who we’ll call Jess, bugs me about every little thing I do…
I vacuum with carpet powder (with a new, hepa filter vacuum, mind you) and she’s harping me about breathing it in.
I get ice cream from Sonic and she’s going on and on about all the preservatives and hormones in the ice cream.
I take a Claritin D for my allergies and she’s chewing me out b/c "that’s so bad in case you get pregnant!"
I don’t want to lose a friend here. But seriously, I’m NOT pregnant. I tried the whole "live like you’re pregnant while TTC" thing for 6 months and it sucked. I deprived myself from doing normal things for no reason whatsoever. No baby to show for it lol. What would you do with unwanted advice?

He’s very itchy & he often gets short tempered from it. He’s allergic to dust mites, pollen, mold, rice, corn, soy, & egg. I bought a Hepa filter vacuum, encased his bedding to keep dust mites away, run air purifiers, change the furnace filter frequently, use fragrance free detergents, run clothes through a second rinse cycle, use no dryer sheets, keep baths tepid & brief, lotion with Eucerin immediately afterward, & have him wear only cotton clothes. I can honestly say NONE of this has made a difference. He starts Kindergarten in the Fall & I worry about him. How can he concentrate if he’s itchy? Keeping my child drugged on Benadryl indefinitely isn’t an option to me. I currently started him on probitotics with his allergists approval & give him 2 tsp. ground Flaxseed in his cereal every morning. I’m now trying Emu oil on him. I spend all my free time searching for answers. Has anyone found relief from dry eczema? Perhaps a Homeopathic Dr. is my next step. Thank you in advance for any help!

It’s the Kenmore Progressive Upright Vacuum Cleaner with Inteli-Clean System (35922). I bought it at Sears a while ago, and now I need more bags for it. It is no longer on the Sears website, but it is on the K-mart website, and I know the companies are jointly owned. I can’t find where it says what type of bag to buy. I know I need to get a HEPA one, but I don’t know what letter (O, V, Y, etc.) Here is a link to it:

Thanks!

I’m looking for a vacuum that is less than 0, Upright, bagless, HEPA, can clean pet hair, and reliable/durable. If you know any other vaccuum brand that fits into ALL of my requirements above, feel free to tell me. I did some research and narrowed my list down to two.
So my questions are:
1. Which one should I buy?
2. What are the pros and cons between the two?

I read you can clean blinds with a vacuum attachment, I don’t have a brush/dusting looking one, I have this
http://www.dyson.com/store/parts.asp?accessory=ACC-DC01347LARGEBRUSH-STD&product=DC07-SY-HEPA_US
These are just cheap blinds, not wood or anything.
How can I clean vertical blinds as well? Thanks! =)

Which would be valid medical expenses, and what documentation would be needed?:
-Advanced air filtration system (particulates, chemicals, hepa and activated carbon filtration) for allergies & chemical sensitivities
-Vacuum with hepa filter (a far shot, but worth asking)
-Home water filtration systems, shower dechlorinator and tap purifier.

Help! I took apart my upright (bag & HEPA-filter equipped) vacuum because it was smelling smoky and indeed there was some hair wrapped around the motor itself (I clean the brush regularly). So with this problem solved I proceeded to completely reassemble the vacuum and voila – done! Then I looked around and realized I’d forgotten to put back the foamy wrapper thing that was encasing the motor (not the filter – this was more like insulation). Now I’m not sure where it’s supposed to go. Does it go around the solid metal part or around the part where all the wires show through?
Sorry I don’t know the tech terms…I just know how to do stuff, not how to write about it!

My 3 year old has just been diagnosed with asthma. I need to keep the house as dust-free as possible. I’m looking for a new vacuum & would like to keep it in the to 5 range. I have seen some with the HEPA bags that look good, or I was thinking about a better Shop-Vac than I currently have. Anyone have any recommendations?
