Vacuum Cleaners Maintenance Tips

Vacuum cleaners had been a best friend not only to women but to men as well in terms of household cleaning. This gadget had been present in almost every household in the United States ever since it’s commercially produced. Believe or not, vacuum cleanings had done wonders in household sweeping for quite some time now.

Today, vacuum cleaners are one of the most fastest selling household products in the market, meaning people are reliant to the machine to make their household chores easier and saves a lot of time in doing so.

In addition, the best thing about vacuum sweepers is that they are portable and handy. Recent designs are handheld therefore; it is compact and easy for you to carry around the house for vacuum sweeping.

Because of the benefit we can extract from vacuum cleaners, it just right to properly take care of the machine for it to last longer in service. Similar to other products, vacuum cleaners also need proper maintenance to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of its function.

Actually, you don’t need to dismantle the cleaner for it to get cleaned. It is quite easier that you might think. The following tips can be your quick guide towards vacuum cleaner care:

]]>

Ensure empty bag before each usage.

Using an already filled – dust bag can decrease the suction at a significant care due to clogged pores in the bin. The reduction of suction poses more strokes in cleaning plus increasing the chances of dust rebound in the area where you are working.

Do not vacuum hard and tiny objects

These types of objects can obstruct the suctioning function of the machine or perhaps can damage it. Items like paper clips, takes, coins, nails or others like them can damage parts of your cleaner. To clear those objects, you can carefully pick it up and dispose of them.

Don’t abuse your vacuum cleaner

Fun as it may be but vacuum cleaners are not designed to be your kid’s toy that they can ride on while you are working. The weight of your child can too much for the machine to carry which can lead to its breakdown.

Also, in terms of cords, avoid over reaching its limits because it can cause bending of the plug blades. Just simply transfer to a new outlet if it cannot reach your area. In addition, do not use extension cords as it can cause over production of heat in the cleaner’s motor.

Storage

Store your cleaner in an area where it can be free of moist and dust. Also, ensure that your cleaner is not piled up with other heavy stuff over it.

Annual Maintenance check

Another thing about taking care of your vacuum machine is the maintenance which should be done at least once a year. Maintenance check means that you have to get the sweeper check for proper functioning even if it does show any signs of malfunction. It’s more like a preventive measure.

-          Replace frayed and worn out belts.

-          Replace damaged impeller blades.

-          Replace the brush strips or beater bar when needed as it may cause unwanted damage to your tapestry.

The life of vacuum cleaners as well as the length of its services also depends on how the owners take care of the machine. In addition, you can also save a lot of money if you just properly maintain your sweeper so that you don’t need to keep on buying something new.

Helpful Tips in Choosing the Right Steam Vacuum Cleaner

]]>

Having a pet at home can be a pain in the neck especially if you have carpeted floor. In this case, cleaning is a very heavy household chore since pet dander can stick to your carpet and mattress. An ordinary vacuum cleaner cannot remove pet odors from carpet. A good household solution for pet owners is to use a steam vacuum cleaner as it can remove pet dander and at the same time disinfecting your floor.

Steam vacuum cleaners work using a mixture of hot water and detergent with some mechanical action to loosen up dirt in the carpet. It washes the fibers and then vacuums up the mixture. Some models have rotating brushes that agitate the carpet for better cleaning results.  Steam vacuum cleaners available in the market come in various types and sizes. The two most common types available are upright and canister steam vacuum cleaners.

Upright steam cleaners have suction motor, tanks, main nozzle and resembles like its counterpart. The spray nozzle where the mixture is fed is located directly behind the suction nozzle. Some types have special hose and smaller nozzle with detachable brushes for cleaning upholstery and stairs.

]]>

A canister steam cleaner has a hose and nozzle that are separated from the tank and suction motor housed inside a case and is pulled along with you when you use it. Some deluxe types have rotating brush in the nozzle and are much easier to move across the carpet when cleaning. The disadvantage of the canister type is that they are not as convenient to set-up and store as the upright type since the hose is usually very long.

Below are some tips to help you choose the best steam vacuum cleaner for your cleaning needs.

1. The steam cleaner should have a good brushing system efficient to remove dirt.

2. Make sure that it has a good water heat booster to increase temperature for better cleaning.  The hotter the water, the better cleaning results.

3. Always check if the steam cleaner has a good suction and vacuum for faster drying ability.

4. It is also important that the cleaner has a large water container especially if you are cleaning a large area to avoid refilling it with water from time to time.

5.  Make sure that the cord of the steam vacuum cleaner that you are going to purchase is long enough and could be plugged into another room away from the damp carpet and water in the steam cleaner. Having a long cord would also make it easier for you transfer from one room to another.

Steam vacuum cleaner can be one of the most helpful household tools especially for pet owners. You are ensured of a better smell of your carpet which will make your stay in your home more relaxing. So take some time in choosing the best steam vacuum cleaner for your home and it will be worth it.

Helpful Tips in Cleaning Carpets and Floors Using Vacuum Cleaners

Posted: Jan 12, 2010 |

]]>

One of the hardest household tasks is cleaning the floor. Having a carpet at home makes it even more difficult to clean it. Thanks to the inventor of the vacuum cleaner! It has become housewives’ best tool in making the job very easy. Here are some helpful tips on using vacuum cleaner to keep your carpet and floor clean.

1. First, always inspect the vacuum cleaner before using it to make sure it is in good working condition. Also, ensure that there is enough airflow inside the machine. Inspect the bag, which collects dirt and debris. If the bag is already full of dirt, empty the container, as this will clog the passageway of air making the cleaner inefficient.

2. Check the area you are going to vacuum. Pick up objects that may clog the equipment. Leave only the objects that can pass through the intake port of the cleaner. Move the objects such as tables, chairs, and couch out of the way to make sure that all parts of the carpet will can be vacuumed.

3. Switch on the vacuum cleaner and start vacuuming from one corner of the carpet going towards the other end. Move the equipment in forward direction and do it slowly to pick up more dirt and waste.  As much as possible, avoid vacuuming in backwards direction more often to avoid accidental stress on the power cord. It is more likely that you will run over the cable when you go backwards which can cause damage on the cord.

4. Make sure that you overlap your cleaning strokes to make sure all the parts of the carpet have been cleaned. This is important especially on carpet since it accumulates more dirt and dust than the floor surface.

5. Change your vacuuming direction the next time you do it. This will prevent matting on the carpet.

6. To clean corners and under the edges of furniture, use attachments on the vacuum such as simple hose with exchangeable ends. Most vacuum cleaners have attachments of various shapes and sizes to fit different sorts of jobs.

7. Wave a vacuum wand under large furniture such as bed and cabinets to get rid of dust particles. You do not need to move this very heavy furniture because vacuum cleaners are designed to make your work easier.

8. While cleaning, always be on the look out for straw, threads, and string s that may enter the apparatus as these may trap debris in the tube or even worse, they may clog up the suction thereby causing more difficult problems.

9. If you have pets, you may use floor-covering freshener because carpets often retain the body smell of animals. An alternative and cheaper way to make your carpet smell good is to sprinkle some baking soda before you vacuum. Leave the baking soda for a while then clean it.

10. To clean pet litter on carpets or floors, use a lightweight vacuum cleaner. Try an upright one with a power brush to get deep into the fibres of the carpet.

Vacuum cleaner has become one of the most convenient house tools of the modern times. Cleaning carpets from wall-to-wall could have been a nearly impossible task. So grab your vacuum cleaner now and take a trip inside your house while you vacuum.

]]>

When seeking to buy a commercial vacuum cleaner you should see it very much as an investment that will last for a number of years. These types of vacuum cleaners tend to range from 0 to around 00 and will vary in shape and size, in the amount of power they are able to produce and the amount of accessories they come with.

It is always good to get a commercial vacuum cleaner that will no break down and that is not expensive to repair. The cost of repairing one of these types of vacuum cleaner can get very expensive so it is always good to get a vacuum cleaner that you know will not cost a lot to maintain and indeed repair at a later stage if it breaks down.

It is also good to have a commercial vacuum cleaner that will last a long time so you can get good use out of it. It is always beneficial to a vacuum cleaner that you do not have to replace after a few years so you can get some good service out of it while you have it. If you are always replacing your vacuum cleaner after a few years then the cost can build up and it can get very expensive, so it is always beneficial to buy a reliable commercial vacuum cleaner. In order to get an idea of the reliability of a vacuum cleaner, seek out reviews and information on what people have found to be reliable. By reading such reviews you can gain a really good feel as to how a vacuum cleaner performs and how people are finding using it in the long term.

When vacuum cleaners do not perform well and need maintenance on a frequent basis, then people will often complain about them on reviews on such sites as Amazon and also forums.

it is always beneficial to ensure the features of the vacuum cleaner fit your requirements. If you have lots of high traffic areas then a powerful machine and maybe even something such as wet dry vacuum cleaners are going to be needed in order to clean the flooring in an area like that. However, if you have an office cubicle area where there are lots of corners that require a small nozzle to get into then maybe a vacuum cleaner such as a canister commercial vacuum cleaner would be beneficial for an area such as that

Some simple tips to help preserve your vacuum cleaner

Posted: May 20, 2011 |Comments: 0

]]>

Having a good and healthy vacuum cleaner is essential in order to keep your home looking the best it can and stop unnecessary dirt and dust from building up around you.

When your vacuum cleaner performs to the levels it should do then you can be rest assured that your carpets or hardwood flooring will be cleaned to the levels you expect. But if the performance of your vacuum cleaner subsides then your the cleanliness of your floors can also subside as your vacuum is not sucking up the levels of dirt and debris that you expect from it.

No matter what type of vacuum cleaner you have whether it may be an upright vacuum cleaner, a canister vacuum, wet dry vacuum cleaners, or backpack vacuum cleaners even, the levels of performance you expect need to be kept at their optimum.

So to keep your vacuum cleaner performing well to the level you expect of it can be an arduous task but it is one that becomes easier by following some good practices that will enable your vacuum cleaner to keep functioning in the way you want it to keep functioning.

Here are some great tips to help you keep your vacuum cleaner functioning well and lasting the length of time you want it to.

Choose your replacement dust bags carefully and make sure they are made of material that will not split of break when under pressure. It is better to buy fabric material bags rather than paper dust bags for this. A good dust bag will ensure the airflow is optimized in the vacuum and keeps the suction flowing well.

Try and avoid vacuuming over sharp or hard objects that may potentially damage your vacuum cleaner. Before you vacuum the room, have scout over the floor ad ensure and hard or sharp objects are picked up before you run over them. This will protect your vacuum and ensure you protect the brush roll from unnecessary damage.

Look after the brush roll and treat it well by ensuring that there is no tangled hair or debris lodged within the brush hairs. This is very easy to do and means that maintaining the brush roll on a daily or weekly basis is of high importance in maintaining a healthy vacuum cleaner.

It is important to change the filter regularly on the vacuum cleaner. It will ensure you continue to get the best out of your vacuum cleaner. You should ensure you change the filter after using the dusty dust bag and ensure the Hepa filter is changed after 50 working hours or every 12 months depending on what is sooner.

Right here are some vacuum cleaner obtaining tips you would want to look at:

1. Get a commercial vacuum device

These machines are demonstrated to be a lot more long lasting than the domestic ones. Moreover, they are outfitted with some of the most dependable cleaning characteristics. However, these machines are more expensive than the basic and domestic vacuum cleaners.

2. Take into account purchasing an upright cleaning device with a canister attachment

If the upright vacuum has a canister attachment, you can use it not just to clean floors but also to clean windowsills and blinds. Prior to acquiring, test the attachment 1st. Find out how simple it is to attach and to use the attachment. Make sure it has a impressive suction process. Air ought to not escape from the machine so it can select up dirt truly effectively.

Also check out the features of the upright cleansing system. If your office has lush carpets, you would want to search for a brush method that can bury deeper into the carpet to get rid of dirt particles.

3. The motor technique should not make a whole lot of noise

Check out the level of noise generated by the device. Most upright vacuum cleaners are noisier than the canister ones. Even so, you can discover a great deal of machines with a great suspension program so they do not make a lot of sound. You might have to shell out a bit more on a tranquil cleaning machine.

4. Appear for a machine with a prolonged cord

Cleaning cubicles can be tough if you have to continually transfer the machine to the nearest electrical outlet. That being mentioned, you have to appear for a vacuum that has a lengthy cord. It need to also operate nicely in cleaning ceilings and blinds.

Tips On How To Keep Your Commercial Vacuum Cleaner In Top Shape

Maintaining your vacuum cleaner does not have to be daunting. Most people think it involves opening up the machine and repairing a couple of things in it. The truth is, you only need to do the following maintenance tips:

1. For your upright commercial vacuum, try to clean the rolling brush.

You might need to remove the screws that attach the rolling brush using a screw driver. Wash the brush in soapy water. Get rid of accumulated hair and pet dander. Once you have removed the visible debris, dry it up. After it has dried up, place the rolling brush back to its original position.

You might also need to lubricate the screws that attach the brush. Once they turn rusty, the brush cannot roll properly. Use an appliance or a car lubricant.

2. Get rid of the vacuum bag and replace it with a new one.

If you are using a disposable bag, don’t wait for it to accumulate dirt fully. You should dispose the bag once it has already been filled up to 3/4 of its capacity. If you are using a bagged canister vacuum, dispose the contents of the bag. Clean the dirt receptacle in soapy water. Dry it up before placing it back to the vacuum machine.

3. Clean the HEPA filter.

All commercial vacuums have been incorporated with HEPA filtration system. These are needed to suck microscopic dust particles and prevent tiny particles from flying back to your face.

Find out where the HEPA filter is located and remove the filter. Rinse it well under running water. You might also need to use a soft-bristled brush to get rid of the debris.

4. Clean the attachments.

This prevents your vacuum machine from emitting a foul odor. Fill up an empty bucket with warm water. Add one cup of Lysol cleaner. Soak the attachments in the cleaning solution. This will also help disinfect the attachments.

If you don’t have a Lysol cleaner right now, try adding one cup of lemon juice to a bucket full of warm water. Lemon juice also has disinfectant properties. In addition to that, it works well in removing unwanted vacuum odor.

5. To deodorize your cleaner, try to use a home-made deodorizer.

I suggest soaking small square pieces of wax paper in scented oils. Let the scented wax papers dry up. Place them in the filters or the vacuum bag.

These are the tips you can use to keep your vacuum cleaner in top condition. Try using these tips to prolong the life of your vacuum machine.

For example, some vacuums are better for cleaning carpets, others for hard floors. You also want to get a model that’s powerful enough for the kind of dirt your home accumulates. The point of this article is to share some parts to mull over when spending money on vacuums, and to look over some recommended models.

As you look at various vacuums, you will notice many talking about having HEPA filters. This means the filter has been approved by a regulatory agency for being effective at trapping dust, mold and other small particles that less sensitive filters would miss. These filters are especially important for people who are allergic to certain types of particles. Be sure to check the percentage of dust particles a particular HEPA filter will trap since they are not all the same. Depending on your needs, and those of anyone you live with, you may want to choose a vacuum cleaner that has a HEPA filter. These models won’t be the cheapest ones available but you can find them for a reasonable price. You should consider the Kirby G4 vacuum cleaner an acceptable choice for most floor types with its powerful yet versatile models. This machine will run you about 60 bucks. Picking the right vacuum for you is only a matter of figuring out the features you need and the budget you have to spend. Buying Tips For a Vacuum Cleaner

A vacuum cleaner, whether the portable and lightweight canister vacuum or the more sturdy upright, is an important tool to use in keeping the house clean. If taken care of properly, it can last for years. Ease of use is just as important as the special features that come together with the machine, in providing a clean home environment.

Here are some points to consider before buying a good household vacuum cleaner:

1. Easy of use: On-off switch must be easy and convenient to operate by hand or foot. It would not be practical to have to bend in order to reach the switch. Most canister vacuums come fitted with finger-tips control on the handle for controlling the power nozzle and flexibility in switching between high and low speeds. If any objects gets stuck in the nozzle, it is easy to switch off the machine immediately.

2. HEPA filtration system has a filtration rating of 99.97 percent at 0.3 microns. Indoor air particulate contaminants consist of dust mites, pollen, spores, bacteria, viruses, toxic gases, odors and smoke. Indoor contaminants can cause respiratory problems, especially for allergy sufferers. Invest in a vacuum with the superior HEPA filtration, to trap and remove dirt particulates and allergens for cleaner, healthier indoor air.

3. Easy to maneuver and tote up and down the stairs is a plus point, in other words, lightweight and compact with a flexible nozzle for reaching nooks and corners as well as hard-to-reach places.

4. Adjustable height for more efficient cleaning: Pushing an upright cleaner around is much easier at the correct height, especially those with bigger wheels. Adjustable telescopic wand for canister vacuum cleaners means vacuuming in an upright position, with no bending and straining of the backbone. When beater brushes are at the correct height, vacuuming is effortless, with deep cleaning for a cleaner carpet. Too high a height means inefficient cleaning as the brushes could not clean deep enough, whereas too low a height will result in the brushes digging deeper into the pile and makes pushing the machine difficult.

5. Lots of stairs: A canister vacuum is normally much easier to use due to its compact and lightweight feature. Most canisters come with a special smaller tool for cleaning carpeted stairs. A long hose as well as a long extension wand and a long power cord, adds to the convenience of vacuuming stairs as you can reach from one landing to the next, without the need to plug and unplug. Stairs are more efficiently cleaned if the dead space between the nozzle brush and the outer edge of its housing is minimal.

6. Disposal of the dirt sucked up: Bags are bigger in uprights but, compared to a canister vacuum, more difficult to take out when disposing the dirt, or to change to a new bag. If pores in bags are clogged, then air flow will be restricted, leading to inefficient vacuuming. Look out for cleaners that come with the convenient ‘dust bag full’ indicator light and the ‘air flow blocked’ indicator light. The self-sealing dust bag for a canister is easily changed. It is designed with a cardboard collar that fits into a slot. A well-designed bag provides improved filtration and longer suction performance. The bag less type is equipped with a dirt cup that is easily removed, washed and put back, with a simple mechanism.

7. Noise level: Generally, a canister is quieter than an upright, with some models having a silence-noise insulation to drastically reduce the noise level.

8. Cord storage: A canister normally has auto-rewind feature for its long power cord whereas uprights normally have two hooks, around which the cord is wound. Storage for the compact and portable canister is more space-saving.

9. Bumpers to protect furniture: Look for machines that are well-rounded without sharp corners, so as not to scratch or damage furniture while vacuuming.

10. Motor: A powerful motor means a strong suction and a powerful airflow, to dislodge even the tiniest dust and dirt particles from carpets, bedding and floors, resulting in a cleaner and more hygienic home.
